    The Summit Roof Report

Everyone offers a "free inspection." Here's what you actually get from us.

A real document you keep — not a sales pitch on your driveway.

    Drone photo documentation

Every roof plane photographed and labeled — including the damage you can't see from the ground.

    Written roof-condition report

Storm date, measurements, material notes and a construction scope your insurance carrier can review.

    Remaining roof life

An honest estimate of how many years your roof has left — even if the answer is 'you don't need us yet'.

    Ventilation audit

We're Lomanco certified. Poor attic ventilation causes ice dams and kills roofs early — almost nobody checks it.

The honest truth about roofers and insurance

After a storm, someone will knock on your door and promise to "handle your insurance claim" or "cover your deductible." Before you sign anything, it's worth knowing where Utah law draws the line.

    What we can do

    • Inspect and document your roof with drone photos, measurements and material notes
    • Prepare a written construction scope your carrier can review
    • Be on-site to explain our roof findings if you ask us to
    • Price the roofing work clearly and explain your costs before we start

What no Utah roofer may do

    • Adjust or settle your claim — reserved for licensed adjusters (Utah Code §31A-26-201)
    • Advocate with your carrier on the coverage decision itself
    • Waive, rebate or absorb your deductible — illegal in Utah (§13-50-302)
    • Tie our price to whatever your policy pays out

If a contractor offers to cover your deductible or promises to fight your insurance for you, walk away — they're putting you at risk, not just themselves. We document the roof. You keep control of your claim.

    Why Summit

We don't sell you the roof we know how to install.

Most roofers are certified in one system, so that's what they recommend — every time. Summit is certified across all of them, including impact-resistant Class 4 shingles built for Utah hail. That means our recommendation is based on your house, not on our limitations.

    Straight answers

    Is the inspection really free?

Yes — free, and with no obligation. You get the drone photos and the written report whether or not you ever hire us. We'd rather be the company that told you the truth about your roof than the one that pressured you into a sale.

Do you handle my insurance claim?

No — and be careful with any roofer who says they do. Under Utah law, adjusting or settling a claim is reserved for licensed adjusters (§31A-26-201). What we do is document the roof properly: drone photos, measurements, material notes and a written scope your carrier can review, and we can be present to explain what we found. The claim stays yours.

Another contractor offered to cover my deductible. Can you match that?

No, and neither can they — legally. Utah Code §13-50-302 makes it illegal for a contractor to waive, rebate or absorb your insurance deductible. A contractor who offers it is putting you at risk too, not just themselves. We'd rather lose the job than put you in that position.

How fast can you get out here?

Within 24 hours in Davis and Weber County. We're based in South Salt Lake, which is 20–30 minutes up I-15.

What if I need a new roof but can't pay for it all at once?

Financing is available, and we'll walk you through the monthly options before you commit to anything. We'll also tell you honestly if a repair makes more sense than a replacement.

The sooner your roof is documented, the stronger your record.

Free, no obligation, and we're out within 24 hours across Davis & Weber County.
