Storm Damage? We Document Your Roof — You Keep Control of Your Claim
After a storm, the strongest thing a homeowner can have is a clear record of the roof: storm date, drone photos, measurements, material notes and a written scope. Summit documents all of it — free — in a report your insurance carrier can review. The coverage decision stays between you and your carrier.
What We Actually Do
Why Work With Us
The Honest Truth About Roofers and Insurance
Almost every roofer in Utah says they'll "handle your insurance claim." Utah law draws a clear line — and it's worth knowing before you sign with anyone.
What we can do
- Inspect and document your roof with drone photos, measurements and material notes
- Prepare a written construction scope your carrier can review
- Be present to explain the roof photos and measurements if you ask us to
- Price the roofing work clearly and explain your costs before we start
What no Utah roofer may do
- Adjust or settle your claim — that's reserved for licensed adjusters (Utah Code §31A-26-201)
- Advocate with your carrier on the coverage decision itself
- Waive, rebate or absorb your deductible — that is illegal in Utah (§13-50-302)
- Tie their price to whatever your policy pays out
If a contractor offers to cover your deductible or promises to "fight your insurance for you," walk away — they're putting you at risk, not helping you. We document the roof. You keep control of your claim.
